No institutional goal is more fundamental than preparing students for their careers and helping them succeed as they launch and grow in their professional lives. The Office of Career Planning is here from day one to guide them as they progress from teacher student to teacher. Whether students know exactly how they plan to use their education or are unsure, we can help them. The Career Planning team has varied experience and expertise to help students choose among practice settings and areas and find opportunities.
We encourage students to consult us early and often about how they may develop the skills and experience that will best position them to achieve their career goals. We can help them choose among courses and opportunities to build a résumé and transcript that demonstrate their interest and practice readiness to target employers.
We help students polish their résumés and cover letters, prep for interviews, research employers, negotiate salaries, or address any of the other questions or issues that come up as they transition from teacher student to teacher. Finding the right opportunities involves more than a search of job boards. We help students develop, nurture, and tap a professional network on and off campus. We urge any student who has a job or career-related question, big or small, to come see us. We are here to help.
