Women Cell

Taking into account the patent gender bias prevalent in Indian society the Honorable Supreme Court has laid down the guidelines and principles to ensure the safety, security and dignity of women at the work place and has announced the following verdict in the case of Vishakha & Others vs. State of Rajasthan & Others in August 1997:
“It shall be the duty of the employer or other responsible person in work places or other institutions to prevent or deter the commission of acts of sexual harassment and to provide the procedure for the resolution, settlement or prosecution of acts of sexual harassment by taking all steps required.”
“It is policy of the University to provide safe working and study environment for staff and students free from gender discrimination and sexual harassment of all forms of sexual intimidation and exploitation.
